THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6. Other Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt indicated that the Landmark Motel has made some <br />changes on their property in regard to cutting down large pine trees, <br />enlarging the parking lot and constructing a fence. He requested the <br />Building and Zoning Department to investigate the legali ty of these <br />changes. <br /> <br />7. Staff Update <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on the budget process for <br />1992. He indicated that the budget hearing is set for August 26, and <br />that the deficit is higher than in past years. He indicated that two <br />possible budget items to consider cutting to reduce the deficit would <br />be the Street Department employee and the Recreation Director. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO RECESS THE MEETING IN ORDER TO HOLD A <br />CLOSED MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER CITY COUNCIL. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />The meeting of the Elk River City Council recessed at 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The meeting of the Elk River City Council reconvened at 9:55 p.m. <br /> <br />8. Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business, COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN THE MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION.
