Call Meetin~ To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River <br />City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Tralle. <br /> <br />2. Consider 7/22/91 City Council A~enda <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle noted that there would be a closed session of the Ci ty <br />Council following the regular Council meeting for the purpose of <br />discussing the Labor Union Contract. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 7/22/91 CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />5-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />Richard Nelson requested permission to construct a 12 foot high by 2 <br />foot wide by 4 foot sign in the shape of a thermometer to show progress <br />in the collection of money to be used for a bone marrow transplant for <br />Blaine Wright. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PLACEMENT OF THE SIGN <br />IN JACKSON SQUARE FOR 75 DAYS. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Carol Mills Presentation on Guardian An~els Housin~ Project <br /> <br />Carol Mills of the Guardian Angels Foundation, indicated that Guardian <br />Angels is pursuing an expansion to its present residential campus. She <br />indicated that Guardian Angels is requesting funding through the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development which would allow the <br />construction of approximately 50 units on the Guardian Angel campus. <br />She further indicated that the HUD Grant would allow up to $60,000 per <br />unit and that they will also allow to put in supportive services for <br />the senior citizens. Carol Mills requested a resolution of support for <br />this project from the City Council. <br />
