On-Sale 3.2 Malt Liquor License/Pinewood Golf Course <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A 3.2 ON SALE MALT LIQUOR <br />LICENSE FOR PAUL KRAUSE AT THE PINEWOOD GOLF COURSE. COUNCILMEMBER <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.3. Truck Scales <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the City's proposed purchase of truck <br />scales. Councilmember Dietz indicated that the County has recently <br />purchased two more scales. He stated that he felt the City's purchase <br />of truck scales should be a last resort measure and that the City <br />should first contact the violators and give them a warning. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle indicated that if the City purchased the truck scales, the <br />fines would help offset the expenditure. He indicated that the main <br />issue is the preservation of City streets, and if the City had scales, <br />it would not take long before truckers started avoiding City residential <br />streets. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF THE TRUCK <br />SCALES AND THAT THE POLICE CHIEF IS TO REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE <br />DEPARTMENT'S PLANS FOR IMPLEMENT A TI ON AND ENFORCEMENT. COUNCI LMEMBER <br />SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that he is in favor of preserving the <br />City roads but feels this is a last resort measure. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 3-1. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ OPPOSED. <br /> <br />6.2. Job Descriptions <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the job descriptions have been <br />written in a standard, general format. He indicated that all <br />individual duties of each position are not intended to be included in <br />job descriptions. He further stated that Councilmember Schuldt has <br />suggested some minor modifications to the job descriptions which will <br />be included, plus the inclusion of a written evaluation requirement for <br />all department heads and the City Administrator. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR ALL CITY <br />POSITIONS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT MINOR REVISIONS WILL BE MADE. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 8:45 p.m. The Council reconvened at 8:55 p.m. <br /> <br />7.1. Street Department Annual Report/PHIL HALS <br /> <br />Phil Hals distributed information regarding the sweeper bid <br />tabulations. He indicated that the City received four bids and he is <br />recommending to accept the bid from MacQueen Equipment. <br />
