The 40 foot street width would also include any <br />work done in 1992 on 4th Street between Holt and Gates Avenues. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle received and entered into the record the following letters: <br /> <br />1. A letter from St. Andrew's Church indicating their views on the <br />project. <br /> <br />2. A letter from Mrs. Eva Murray, 524 4th Street, stating her <br />opposition to the project. <br /> <br />3. A letter from Mrs. Pipenhagen stating her opposition to the <br />project. <br /> <br />All letters were distributed to the Council. <br /> <br />Paul Henderson, 517 4th Street, questioned the cost of assessments per <br />front footage. <br /> <br />Orvil Peterson questioned the necessity of involving 4th Street in <br />the improvement project. <br /> <br />Discussion was held by the Council regarding the possibility of <br />postponing improvements to 4th Street from Holt Avenue west until St. <br />Andrew's Church completes its expansion. It was noted that if this <br />were the case, there would be the possibility of widening 4th Street to <br />40 feet. It was the consensus of the Council to delay the 4th street <br />improvements from Irving Avenue to Holt Avenue. <br /> <br />Jerry Gadach, 567 4th Street, questioned the parking on the street. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public. <br />the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle closed <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council that Terry Maurer begin survey work <br />on the project and that he revise the feasibility study to reflect the <br />new costs of the project with the elimination of 4th Street from Irving <br />Avenue to Holt Avenue and with a reduced storm sewer project on 4th <br />Street and with 4th Street being 40 feet between Holt Avenue and <br />Gates Avenue. <br /> <br />5.2. Park Grant/Public Hearing <br /> <br />Phil Hals, Street Superintendent, stated that he is in the process of <br />applying for a community development grant for outdoor recreation. He <br />stated that part of the process of applying for this grant requires <br />that the City hold a public hearing. The two parks that are being <br />considered for the application are Woodland Trails Park and the <br />Railroad Trail. Phil Hals stated that the total grant request is for <br />$120,000 with the City matching $120,000. <br />
