COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />7. Check Register <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz questioned the amount of billing from the <br />Engineering Firm. Terry Maurer explained that the reason for the high <br />bills this year were due to the amount of projects the City of Elk <br />River is working on. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHECK REGISTER. <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br /> <br />6.7. Consider Purchase of Leak Detection System for Fuel Storage Tanks <br /> <br />Pat Klaers indicated that according to a memo from Phil Hals, the <br />Federal Government has mandated that all fuel storage tanks must have a <br />leak detection system. He indicated that Phil has gone out for quotes <br />to purchase a leak detection system and is recommending the Council <br />accept the quote from Hale Company of $5,095.55 which was the low quote <br />of four quotes. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE FROM HALE COMPANY AT <br />$5,095.55 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM. COUNCILMEMBER <br />SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />8. Other Business <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he has been working with the <br />Cable TV Coordinator in getting the City Hall cable ready. He stated <br />that the Cable Consultant has submitted a proposal for $40,000 for <br />equipment. He indicated that the Cable Commission, before financing <br />this expense for Elk River, would like a commitment from the City that <br />the City will put at least one Council meeting per month on Cable TV. <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that the Nord property <br />Purchase Agreements have been signed. He indicated they are <br />anticipating closing on the property on May 26. He further informed <br />the Council that the City is in the process of renting the house to <br />Jeff Ashfal. It was the consensus of the Council to rent the house <br />located on the Nord property to Jeff Ashfal. <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he is recommending to increase <br />the wage of the Recycling Coordinator. He requested increasing the <br />salary by $.45 per hour and that the pay range match that of the Zoning <br />Assistant. <br />
