Because of this he requested the Council to consider <br />purchasing a couple other items from Flexible Pipe Tool Company. <br /> <br />Pat Klaers stated that the main reason for rejecting the Crysteel bid <br />is that they did not provide the City with references and, therefore, <br />they did not meet the City's bid requirements. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO ACCEPT BID #2 FROM FLEXIBLE PIPE TOOL <br />COMPANY. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren noted that the purpose for the Council rejecting <br />the Crysteel bid is because they did not conform to the City's bid <br />specifications. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.2a. <br /> <br />Resolution Awarding Contract to Arcon! Western Area Improvements <br /> <br />Terry Maurer, City Engineer, indicated that the City received a total <br />of nine bids for the Western Area Phase I Improvements. He stated that <br />the lowest bidder was Arcon Construction at $2,128,616.76. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION <br />ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT <br />THE PHASE I WESTERN AREA IMPROVEMENT OF 1992. <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />92-26, A RESOLUTION <br />IN THE MATTER OF <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ <br /> <br />6.2b. <br /> <br />Resolution Approving Well Plans and Advertisement for Bids <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 92-27, A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING THE ADVERTISEMENT <br />FOR BIDS IN THE MATTER OF THE WESTERN AREA PHASE I PRODUCTION WELL <br />IMPROVEMENT OF 1992. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.2c. <br /> <br />Western Area Improvements and Trail Development <br /> <br />Pat Klaers indicated that the trails planned for the City Hall site <br />have been reviewed by the Park and Recreation Commission. He stated <br />that the Park and Recreation Commission has recommended that the five <br />foot concrete sidewalk on the north side of the parkway be replaced by <br />an approximately ten foot bituminous surface that can serve as a <br />biking, hiking, rollerblading trail. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE REQUEST OF THE PARK AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION TO REPLACE THE FIVE FOOT CONCRETE SIDEWALK ON THE <br />NORTH SIDE OF THE PARKWAY WITH AN APPROXIMATELY TEN FOOT BITUMINOUS <br />SURFACE. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.3a. Extension of Time on Sewer Hookup <br /> <br />Pat Klaers distributed a petition from the residents in the Westwood <br />Area requesting a five year time limit on hooking up to City sewer. <br />
