Redistrictinr Continued Public Hearinr <br /> <br />The City Clerk explained that there is a new Federal Congressional Plan <br />issued by the Federal Court which splits the City of Elk River, placing <br />two congressional districts in Elk River. She indicated that she has <br />been unable to obtain a copy of the Federal Congressional Plan and, <br />therefore, cannot draw the precinct lines to accommodate this plan. <br />She requested that the City Council continue this public hearing until <br />March 30. She further noted that March 30 is the absolute deadline for <br />adopting the City's redistricting plan. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO CONTINUE THE REDISTRICTING PUBLIC <br />HEARING UNTIL MARCH 3D, 1992, AT THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.3. Qitv Hall Facilitv Update <br /> <br />Zack .lohnson and David Maroney, of Eos Architecture reviewed the <br />interior materials which are being recommended for the City Hall <br />project. <br /> <br />The City Administrator explained that these materials have been <br />reviewed by the City staff and the Design Committee. <br /> <br />Zack Johnson indicated that he felt the materi aIs whi ch have been <br />selected a.re of good durable quality and will fall within the project <br />budget. <br /> <br />COIJNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO ACCEPT THE INTERIOR DESIGN MATERIALS <br />AS RgCOMMENDED BY EOS ARCHITECTURE AND THE DESIGN COMMITTEE AND AS <br />LISTED IN THE AGENDA FOR THE DESIGN COMMITTEE MEETING DATED 3/1R/92. <br />COIJNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.4. Joint City Council and Park and Recreation Committee Meetinr <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO CALL A .TOINT MEETING WITH THE PARK AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION AND THE CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 13, 1992, AT <br />APPROXIMATELY 8:00 P.M. FOLLOWING THE EDA MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER <br />KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTTON CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.5. Pol j ce IlliRartment JRM .Persopal COIl!p'.uter Reques1~ <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Police Department is <br />requesting to purchase an IBM Personal Computer. He stated the <br />personal computer is needed for clerical staff because of the increased <br />work load. He further stated that the finances will come from <br />Equi pmp.nt Cp.rt ifieates if the poll ce vehie] es and relnted expenses eam(~ <br />in under budget or from equipment reserves after police vehicles are <br />sold this spring. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMRER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHOR I ZE THE POLICE DF.PARTMENT TO <br />PURCHASE AN IBM PS/2 MODEL 55SX, 4MB PERSONAL COMPUTER. VICE MAYOR <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
