34 <br />Elk River Ice Arena and Lion John Weicht Park Facilities <br />Part IV: Project Examples, Supplemental Information <br />VALUE <br />$7,200,000 <br />PROJECT <br />ASSIGNMENT <br />CMa <br />ARCHITECT <br />RSP Architects <br />Stevens Engineers <br />RJM Construction was hired by the City of St. Louis Park to oversee construction <br />of a multi-use outdoor recreational facility on the campus of The Rec Center. The <br />project includes an NHL-sized refrigerated outdoor ice rink that can be converted <br />into a covered turfed field each spring. <br />This project was in coordination with the full replacement of the existing rec <br />centers’ ice system upgrade and relocation to refrigeration room. <br />The roof structure was built with glue laminated beams, tensile fabric and steel <br />cabling support. The spectator area includes bleachers and an outdoor plaza with <br />a fire pit.
