Comments Included:
Yes,it would be nice to see them during the farmers market or music in the park nights..
No,I like the small town feel... I have to work downtown mpls so I might be selfish.
No. They are a fire/explosion hazard and aren't well regulated for safety.
Great idea as long as they are subject to and meet health codes for food service.
Aren't they already allowed all of the places listed except downtown? There are already plenty of options for eating downtown Elk River
and they all have takeout options. There is no need to take away business from these restaurants downtown. I'm all for food trucks in
places that don't have options for food, but we have a great selection downtown with great restaurant owners who invest in our
community. Having them at festivals/grad parties/etc should be up to whoever is planning the event.
Food trucks have damaged several restaurants downtown Minneapolis and put them out of business....restaurants that payed taxes and
contributed to the community, local fundraising, etc.
Keep in mind food trucks don't have to pay property taxes, they won't be contributing at all to the community like the local businesses do.
Let them stick to festivals.
Yes! At my job,we can't leave our property to go get lunch or dinner for breaks.
A brewery plus food trucks!!! I'd never leave downtown.
We need more small businesses, and less red tape for them to jump through, including food trucks.
Don't love it as we already have traffic congestion problems for such a small city and it takes away from the local economy
The only question I would pose is "Where would you have designated for general downtown?" Would they be in the parking lot with the
farmers market instead on parking spaces on main street. But I am all for supporting more small businesses in Elk River.
It would be nice at athletic events that don't sell concessions and other special event.
