<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MEETING OF THE ELK RIVER BOARD OR REVIEW <br />HELD AT THE SHERBURNE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING <br />THURSDAY, APRIL 29, 1993 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman, Councilmembers Dietz, Farber and Scheel <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren (due to the fact that he is an <br />employee of the county Assessor's office) <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br /> <br />Sandra Thackeray, City Clerk; Ty Bischoff, County <br />Assessor; Jerry Kritzeck, Commercial Assessor; <br />Cullen, Residential Assessor <br /> <br />John <br /> <br />Call Meeting To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Board of Review <br />was called to order at 6:07 p.m. by Mayor Duitsman. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Pete Rohlf PID' 75-432-0110 Pete Rohlf indicated he owns a <br />mini-storage building. He stated that when he was building his <br />mini-storage units he was told by the City that he must have 40 feet of <br />concrete between the buildings. Mr. Rohlf indicated that in the <br />meantime, other buildings have been constructed and have been told that <br />they need 20 feet of concrete between the buildings. He stated that <br />the extra feet between buildings cost him money in concrete as he <br />needed 1482 square feet of extra concrete. He also stated he. had to <br />reduce the number of buildings by one because of the 40 foot <br />requirement. He further stated that he was ordered by the Council to <br />finish his buildings with stucco and bricks in the corners and other <br />mini-storage buildings are being allowed to use metal skin siding. Due <br />to this, the assessed value of his building is higher than other <br />mini-storage sheds. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO REDUCE THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF MR. <br />ROHLF'S PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS PARCEL 75-432-0110 BY $1,500 TO <br />COMPENSATE FOR THE EXTRA CONCRETE WHICH WAS REQUIRED BY THE CITY. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />Pete Rohlf stated that he requested to buy the vacant lot, which the <br />city now owns, located adjacent to his buildings. He stated that the <br />City Administrator indicated that the City was not interested in <br />selling. The City Council suggested that he appear before the City <br />Council to request to purchase the property. <br /> <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Daryl Bronniche, Representative <br />Daryl Bronniche submitted a <br />market value of his property be <br />states in the letter that the <br />Assessor's office is premature. <br /> <br />of Donald Raske PID' 75-127-3110 <br />letter requesting that the estimated <br />reduced to the original 1992 value. He <br />suggested commercial value by the County <br />
