Phil <br />Hals indicated that he has walked the riverbank and feels that the City is using <br />the rip rap in the areas in which it is needed. Mayor Duitsman suggested that the <br />Street Superintendent look at the corner by Dares Funeral Home and determine <br />whether this is a more critical area. The City Engineer suggested that the project <br />can be bid out with construction alternatives. <br /> <br />6.4h. <br /> <br />Discussion on the oossible ourchase of a new Hiqhwav 169 Northbound liquor <br />store site <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers, indicated he met with the property owner of the <br />northeast corner of the intersection of Highway 169 and 193rd Avenue regarding <br />the City's interest in purchasing this property for the Northbound Liquor Store site. <br />He indicated that this is the City's preferred site for the new Liquor Store. He <br />indicated that he discussed the fair market price of the property with the owners <br />and asked the Council if they have any concerns regarding paying this amount <br />for a liquor store site. <br /> <br />Councilmember Scheel questioned why the City felt it must consider only this site. <br />She indicated there were other options open to the City. Council member Farber <br />stated that location is very important to the success of the liquor store. Mayor <br />Duitsman stated that this issue is something that should be considered and <br />discussed again in about a month. The Council requested that the Liquor Store <br />Manager discuss this issue with the Council at a later date. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />7.1. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Enqineerinq Services <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren questioned whether the Council would be interested <br />in making a decision on the issue of developers utilizing the private engineering <br />services. Reconsideration of Resolution 89-12 was continued at the last Council <br />meeting until 10/17/94. It was the consensus of the Council to make no decision <br />on this issue at this time. <br /> <br />Council Salary Increase <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman questioned whether the Council wanted to consider an increase <br />in the Council's salary for 1995. He noted that the last increase was in 1991. <br />Council members Scheel and Farber felt that a raise in Council salary was <br />appropriate as the Council meets more now than in the past. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 94-14, AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 202 OF THE CITY CODE, SALARIES OF MAYOR AND <br />COUNCILMEMBERS TO INCREASE THE SALARY FOR MAYOR, VICE MAYOR AND <br />COUNCILMEMBER BY $75.00 PER MONTH. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />e <br />
