<br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />November 7, 1994 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />4.4. <br /> <br />Update on Street Proiects <br /> <br />4.4a. Naples Street and 186th Avenue - Area resident Joe Bickman asked the <br />City Council a number of questions regarding the status of this proposed <br />1992 project. The City Engineer reviewed the history of this project and <br />noted that this project file was temporarily closed in 1992 as no progress <br />was being made in obtaining right-of-way from the residents for this <br />improvement project. <br /> <br />4.4b. Concord Road - The City Engineer reviewed with the Council the status of <br />obtaining right-of-way along Concord Road for this improvement project. <br />Council member Dietz indicated that a neighborhood meeting would be <br />set up by one of the residents at a future date to further review the <br />possibility of this project happening in 1995. <br /> <br />4.4c. Waco Street Bridae - The City Engineer noted that more research is taking <br />place regarding the status of a floodable bridge and also that the City is <br />pursuing the purchase of right-of-way for this project. MSA funds would be <br />used for this right-of-way purchase. <br /> <br />4.4d. Jackson Avenue/Elk Park Center - The City Engineer noted that this project <br />is nearing completion for 1994 with the project being finalized in 1995. <br />Signals are anticipated to be installed in the next few weeks. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />4.4e. Joplin Street/Country Crossinas First Addition - The City Engineer noted that <br />in 1994 a temporary road will be installed from County Road 30 in the <br />Joplin Street alignment. This will provide temporary access to the Country <br />Crossings plat. This plat has approximately ten building permits issued so <br />far this year. <br /> <br />4.4f. 221st Avenue - The City Engineer noted that the bids have been awarded <br />for this project and that construction is anticipated to begin this week. <br />Letters have been sent to area residents regarding this project. <br /> <br />MNDOT /CITY HIGHWAYS 10 AND 169 CORRIDOR STUDIES - The City Engineer <br />reviewed with the Council the status of the corridor studies and noted that so far <br />efforts have been concentrated on identifying locations for future signalized <br />intersections. <br /> <br />4.5. Street/Park Department Laborer Position <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE <br />STREET/PARK DEPARTMENT LABORER POSITION AS OUTLINED IN THE 11/7/94 MEMO <br />FROM THE STREET/PARK SUPERINTENDENT PHIL HALS. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />e <br />
