RECREATIONAL VEHICLES MUST BE PARKED ALONG THE WEST PROPERTY LINE <br />NEAR THE BUILDING. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. Reauest for Comprehensive Land Use Plan Amendment and Rezonina by the City <br />of Elk River/Public Hearina - LU 94-2 and ZC 94-3 <br /> <br />Gary Schmitz indicated that the City is requesting an amendment to the <br />comprehensive land use plan changing the land use from HR to MR at the <br />location of the NW corner of the intersection of Gary Street and Orono Road. The <br />City is also requesting a zone change from R4 to R 1 C for the same location. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Farber opened the public hearing. There being no one for or against <br />the matter, Vice Mayor Farber closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Dan Tveite indicated that the Planning Commission recommended approval of <br />the land use and rezoning requests. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE <br />PLAN AMENDMENT CHANGING THE LAND USE FROM HR (HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) <br />TO MR (MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) IN THE AREA OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF <br />THE INTERSECTION OF GARY STREET AND ORONO ROAD BASED ON THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />1. THE LAND USE PLAN CHANGE WILL PROVIDE CONTINUITY WITH THE INTENDED <br />USE AS PARK AND THE EXISTING PARK AREA. <br /> <br />2. THE CITY CURRENTLY HAS A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF MULTI-FAMILY LAND-USE <br />AND IS TRYING TO ACHIEVE AN APPROPRIATE MIX BY INCREASING LOW <br />AND MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL LAND USES. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
