Mavor Term of Office <br /> <br />Peter Beck informed the Council that an ordinance amendment is required to <br />change the mayoral term from two years to four years. The City Administrator <br />suggested that a public hearing be held prior to adoption of the ordinance. It <br />was the consensus of the Council to hold a public hearing in May on this issue. <br /> <br />11. Staff Updates <br /> <br />Pat Klaers informed the Council that Officer Nierenhausen would be attending a <br />training program so that he could offer fitness training to all City employees. <br /> <br />------------------------- <br />------------------------- <br /> <br />Peter Beck reviewed a letter that was distributed to the Council regarding FHA <br />financing and the Deerfield 4th Addition. The letter was addressed to <br />Congressman Oberstar. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE LETTER ADDRESSED TO <br />CONGRESSMAN OBERSTAR REGARDING THE DEERFIELD 4TH MATTER. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />--------------------------- <br />--------------------------- <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Peter Beck updated the Council on a zoning enforcement matter regarding <br />Tailwind Trailers. <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO CALL AN EXECUTIVE SESSION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL TO DISCUSS PENDING LITIGATION OF THE EARL HOHLEN PROPERTY AND <br />BUD HOULTON PROPERTY. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 10:25 p.m. The Council reconvened at 10:35 p.m. <br /> <br />14. Adiournment <br /> <br />There being no further business. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO <br />ADJOURN THE MEETING. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION.
