<br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />September 25, 1995 <br />Update on lake Orono Committee <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf noted that the City of ~Ik River's role in this project is to help facilitate <br />the evaluation of environmental i~sues at lake Orono. On October 10, 1995 at <br />7:00 p.m. there will be a lake Orono meeting and Councilmembers are invited. <br /> <br />Update on the Recreation Field land Proposal <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator stated that the property owner have had some <br />recent inquiries but nothing has changed regarding the selling price. The City <br />Administrator forwarded an appraisal and the soil borings to the property <br />owners. The appraisal price is at $2,5oo/acre. <br /> <br />The Building/Zoning Administrator stated the existing wells are being tested. The <br />City Administrator stated that before the City purchases the land the City needs <br />to have a public hearing. <br /> <br />Update on the Tom Hartman Property and the Joplin Avenue Frontage Road <br />North of Hiahway 10 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator updated the Council on some more work that Mike <br />Amo, St. Cloud Appraisals has done for the City regarding the Tom Hartman <br />property north of Highway 10 near Joplin Avenue. The City is hoping to identify <br />a site on the north side of Highway 10 at the signal lights where the City could <br />have a westbound liquor store in the future. The City is looking for 1 1/3 to 1 1/2 <br />acres. M-. Hartman may be asking if the City is willing to exchange some of the <br />assessments for land. According to the appraisal the value would be around <br />$98,OOO/acre. Terry Mauer, City Engineer has recently made a presentation to <br />Guardian Angels regarding the cost and timetable for a frontage road. Mr. <br />Hartman would like to see a frontage road system installed in 1996. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />6.
