COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO CALL THE TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC HEARING ON THE TAX LEVY AND BUDGET fOR DECEMBER 11, 1995, AT 7 P.M. WITH A CONTINUATION DATE Of SEPTEMBER 18, 1995, AT 7 P.M. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. Councilmember Dietz opposed. 7. Other Business There was no other business. 8. Staff Updates City Administrator Pat Klaers presented the following staff updates. The City Administrator informed the Council that a Commissioner has enrolled in the Chamber Leadership Program. He questioned whether the Council was interested in paying for this enrollment. COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO PAY FOR AN ENROLLMENT OF A COMMISSION MEM8ER FOR THE CHAM8ER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. e The City Administrator updated the Council on the trail system located by Heritage Landing. He indicated that the portion of the trail has been temporarily closed due to the trail being under construction and not completed. The City Administrator updated the Council on the lost Ice Arena Task Force meeting and the progress made by the grant committee. The City Administrator updated the Council on the plans for the city Christmas Party. He indicated that the Christmas Party was being planned for employees and spouses only. Consider Purchase of 115.65 Acres to be Used for Sludge Land, Recreational Fields, and Residential Home Sites e The City Administrator indicated that the Park and Recreation Commission has recommended that the Council consider this property for athletic fields.
