THE MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />O. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO CALL THE TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC <br />HEARING ON THE TAX LEVY AND BUDGET fOR DECEMBER 11, 1995, AT 7 P.M. WITH <br />A CONTINUATION DATE Of SEPTEMBER 18, 1995, AT 7 P.M. COUNCILMEMBER <br />SCHEEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. Councilmember <br />Dietz opposed. <br /> <br />7. Other Business <br /> <br />There was no other business. <br /> <br />8. Staff Updates <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers presented the following staff updates. <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that a Commissioner has enrolled in <br />the Chamber Leadership Program. He questioned whether the Council was <br />interested in paying for this enrollment. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO PAY FOR AN ENROLLMENT OF A <br />COMMISSION MEM8ER FOR THE CHAM8ER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on the trail system located by <br />Heritage Landing. He indicated that the portion of the trail has been <br />temporarily closed due to the trail being under construction and not <br />completed. <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on the lost Ice Arena Task Force <br />meeting and the progress made by the grant committee. <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on the plans for the city Christmas <br />Party. He indicated that the Christmas Party was being planned for employees <br />and spouses only. <br /> <br />Consider Purchase of 115.65 Acres to be Used for Sludge Land, Recreational <br />Fields, and Residential Home Sites <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Park and Recreation Commission has <br />recommended that the Council consider this property for athletic fields. <br />
