MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.1 Cable TV Update <br /> <br />City Clerk Sandra Thackeray updated the Council on several cable TV issues. She <br />informed the City Council that the City meetings currently being aired over TV will <br />be on a set schedule. She stated that the City Council meeting will be aired <br />three times per week, the Pianning Commission two times per week, and the EDA <br />meeting two times per week. The City Clerk also updated the City Council on the <br />feature, which allows community information to be accessed by the public via <br />Govemment Access Channel Number 12 and the telephone. She introduced Eric <br />Teichroew, who has been hired to work for the Wright Sherburne Cable <br />Commission. She stated that Eric is working with each of the municipalities in the <br />Cable Commission to set schedules for airing City Council meetings. <br /> <br />5.2 <br /> <br />School Board Update On Bond Issue <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />School Board Chair Tim Kelley gave a presentation to the City Council regarding <br />the upcoming School Bond Referendum. He discussed the increasing enrollment <br />issue and the fact that the SChool District is outgrowing its present high school <br />facility. Tim Kelley reviewed the bond budget summary and stated that the <br />School Bond Referendum asks for $45.400,000 to improve existing facilities and to <br />build a new high school in the Elk River area. He reviewed the breakdown of the <br />funds, which include, $36,500,000 for schools and $8,900,000 for other amenities, <br />such as land, technology, code amendments, etc. Tim Kelley also reviewed the <br />impact the bond referendum would have on property taxes. The Council <br />thanked the School Board for the presentation. <br /> <br />5.3 <br /> <br />Senior Citizen Coordinator Annual Report <br /> <br />Senior Citizen Coordinator Suzanne Kostanshek presented the Elk River Senior <br />Citizen Program 1994 Annual Report. Suzanne reviewed the types of activities for <br />which she is responsible including the planning, coordinating, supervising, and <br />leadership of a variety of leisure time and educational activities for seniors in the <br />Elk River area. Suzanne Kostanshek commented on the increase in volunteer <br />hours and conveyed her thanks to the volunteers. The City Council thanked <br />Suzanne Kostanshek for her efforts. <br /> <br />5.7 <br /> <br />Consider A Proposal For Traininq Services Submitted By Traininq Networks, Inc. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Bill Rubin reviewed the proposal submitted <br />by Training Networks to implement the recommendations of the Needs <br />Assessment Report. Bill Rubin stated that the proposal is divided into the areas of <br />facilitated planning, employee training, and internal information flow and team <br />work. Bill Rubin introduced Sandra Bower who is the owner of Training Networks, <br />Inc. Sandra Bower gave 0 brief review of the proposal. <br />
