Councilmember Farber indicated <br />that after further evaluating the situation, he concurred with the Mayor. <br /> <br />5.6. Discussion of Firefiohters Compensation Plan <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lori Johnson reviewed the issues regarding the fire <br />compensation proposal. The issues included: <br /> <br />· total hourly pay. <br />· double time holiday pay, <br />· night call out pay. and <br />· annual review of fire compensation. <br /> <br />Following review of these issues it was the consensus of the Council to offer the <br />following to the firefighters: . <br /> <br />· total hourly pay of $22.25 for emergency calls only, and <br />· double time pay for holidays <br />· annual review of Fire Compensation. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO OFFER THE FIREFIGHTERS $22.25 PER HOUR FOR <br />EMERGENCY CALLS, $8.00 PER HOUR FOR ALL OTHER NON-EMERGENCY CALLS, AND <br />DOUBLE TIME PAY FOR THE SEVEN HOLIDAYS LISTED IN THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL <br />AND ANNUAL REVIEW OF FIRE COMPENSATION. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br />The City Council recessed at 7:00 p.m. and moved to the Training Room for a joint <br />meeting with the School Board. The City Council meeting reconvened at 7:05 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members of the School Board and staff were present: Chair Tim Kelly; Vice <br />Chair Patricia Schaber; Ty Bischoff; Kathleen Poate; Jeff Gongoll; Mark Strater; Rochelle <br />Leonard; Superintendent Doctor Flannery; and Ron Brantley. <br /> <br />7.1. <br /> <br />Ice Arena Update <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Jeff Gongoll updated the Council and SChool Board on the status of the ice <br />arena project. He indicated that the local banks have committed to a loan on <br />the building of $2 million and stated that the ice arena will be able to support $2 <br />million from user fees and revenues. Jeff Gongoll explained that the estimated <br />costs for the ice arena have come in at $2.4 million. He indicated that the <br />project is $400,000 over budget and that this gap must be bridged through <br />fundraising. He further stated that there is a chance that the Mighty Duck <br />Legislation may go through which would provide some money to bridge that <br />gap. <br />
