.

.

.

December, 1993

PROGRAM: Skills

8 of 8 Pages

WAGE INCENTIVE: 200/0 of the total available

COMPONENTS: Two separate tests will be developed to evaluate the
skills of the employees. One test will be for Patrol
Officers and a second test will be for employees
assigned to Juvenile/Investigator activities. A
Committee will be appointed by the Chief of Police to
develop the test questions.

The tests will be taken on employee time if they choose
to participate in this voluntary program. The majority
of the skills assessment will be based on the
Department's Policy and Procedure Manual, Criminal
Code, City Ordinances, traffic laws and other
information deemed appropriate by the Committee.

The test will be offered twice per year. The test will be
composed of 24 questions each. A passing grade of
750/0 is required in order to obtain the wage incentive
available. The Committee will determine the mix of
the questions in terms of how much of each test is
related to the special assignments of the employees.
