<br />. , <br /> <br />[DISCUSSION DRAFT] <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. use of offensive or demeaning terms which have sexual <br />connotations; <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. telling suggestive jokes or stories and conversations <br />about sexual exploits, sexual preferences, and desires; <br /> <br />. jokes, cartoons, pictures, objects or stories which have a <br />sexual content; <br /> <br />. threats, demands or suggestions that an employee's <br />work status, advancement or other terms and conditions <br />of employment are contingent upon the employee's <br />toleration of or acquiescence to unwelcome sexual <br />advances; <br /> <br />. repeated, unwelcome sexual flirtations, propositions, or <br />invitations to social engagements; or <br /> <br />. unwelcome and objectionable physical contact or <br />physical proximity. <br /> <br />Scope of Policy <br /> <br />This policy prohibits same sex harassment and harassment by members of the opposite sex. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In addition, this policy prohibits sexual harassment and any other form of harassment by any <br />individual, including managers and supervisors, employees, coworkers, and third parties such as <br />clients, elected officials, consultants, contractors or vendors who deal with the City's employees. <br /> <br />Reporting Harassment <br /> <br />If at any time you feel you are being harassed, you should immediately contact: <br /> <br />your supervisor; and/or <br /> <br />a department head; and/or <br /> <br />the City Administrator <br /> <br />the City wants to resolve any problems, but it can do so only if it is aware of them. The City <br />encourages any individual who believes he or she is being harassed to report any and all <br />incidents of perceived harassment. <br /> <br />Your report may be verbal or written; in either case, it is important that you state that your report <br />is being made under this harassment policy, or that it concerns harassment. You may choose to <br />whom you make the report; that choice, however, must be made from the list of individuals . <br />named above. <br /> <br />37 <br />
