The starting salary is <br />anticipated to be between $108,470 and $114,288. The Board has authorized the seeking of a <br />salary waiver under Minnesota Statute 43A.17 to $140,000. <br /> <br />BASIC QUALIFICATIONS <br />The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Human <br />Services or a related field (a Master's degree is highly desirable) and considerable, increasingly <br />responsible management experience in a government agency, private enterprise, or large, <br />multifaceted non-profit agency. <br /> <br />BOARD RELATIONSHIPS <br />. Accepts Board's policy direction, supports Board's mission <br />. Deals with all Board members equally, provides sufficient detailed information to the <br />Board to allow for policy development. <br />. Willing and able to give Board Members strong advice <br />. Must demonstrate honesty and fairness in Board relations <br /> <br />STAFF RELATIONS <br />. Provides strong leadership and gives clear direction to department heads <br />. Challenges department heads to be creative <br />. Has an understanding of, appreciation for and ability to work with unionized workforce <br />. Removes barriers, has a desire to utilize all peoples <br />. Creates an environment that allows/enables County staff to effectively carry out their <br />responsibilities <br />. Supports and takes an active interest in the continued education/professional development <br />of staff <br />. Has an understanding of and support for the County's Model Employer Initiative, <br />continue promoting a diverse, culturally responsive and respectful work place <br /> <br />COMMUNITY RELATIONS <br />. Ability to work with and for the citizens of Ramsey County <br />. Must be an active advocate for the County in the community <br />. Builds and maintains an effective relationship with community leaders and organizations <br /> <br />DESIRED MANAGEMENT STYLE <br />. Visionary, thinks outside the box <br />.
