QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH <br /> Quantitative Research <br /> The quantitative research report consists of findings from our survey that was distributed <br /> to City of Elk River residents. We conducted quantitative research to gain a better understanding <br /> of the City of Elk River residents' awareness of Energy City, their view on the importance of <br /> Energy City, and their local news media consumption habits. Its findings support our qualitative <br /> research,whereas the City of Elk River residents are interested in Energy City,pending they know <br /> about it, and value energy efficiency and sustainability. Similarly, the City of Elk River residents <br /> receive their local news through a variety of sources, notably print sources, such as the Elk River <br /> Star News,and social media. <br /> METHODOLOGY FOR SURVEY <br /> The survey consisted of 26 questions (See Appendix H for questions) and captured 49 <br /> responses. The City of Elk River staff distributed the survey by means of the City of Elk River <br /> online newsletter and the Energy City and Parks and Recreation Facebook pages. Although it is <br /> important to understand that we are working with a relatively low sample size of respondents, <br /> the City of Elk River residents do come from diverse backgrounds, where 66 percent of <br /> respondents were female and 34 percent were male and they had varying degrees of age, <br /> education levels, and employment statuses. Nearly all of the respondents were ethnically <br /> white/Caucasian, which is consistent with the City of Elk River's population, and 34 percent of <br /> respondents have lived in the City of Elk River between 2-10 years and 41 percent of respondents <br /> have lived there between 10-30 years.
