Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 111March 9,2017 <br /> 6.1 Major Park Use— Lion John Weicht Park <br /> Mr. Benoit presented his staff report. <br /> Gateway Church representative, Chase shared that they want to celebrate through <br /> music and will offer concessions onsite and donating any profits to CAER. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Ahlness and seconded by Commissioner Kallemeyn <br /> to recommend to City Council to accept staff recommendations of charging <br /> the band shell fee of$20, returnable damage deposit of$250 and group will <br /> pay for extra trash and portable toilets if needed. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> 6.2 Parks and Recreation Bylaws <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Holmgren to <br /> approve the Parks and Recreation Commission Bylaws. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> 7.1 Outdoor Ice Rinks4111 <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report.Adding that staff is working with the school <br /> district on the possibilities of updating the two indoor rinks. It is in the preliminary <br /> process of talks. <br /> Chair Anderson Dave would like to see it as an action item in future regarding if one <br /> or more rinks should close. <br /> Commissioner Holmgren would like to know what the area residents want,and <br /> suggests inviting them to the next meeting. <br /> Chair Anderson, stated that if Trott Brook Park ice rink was closed people would <br /> just need to go further to skate. Does the current level use justify the cost of keeping <br /> the rink open? <br /> Commissioner Soltvedt stated it would be worthwhile to notify the residents of Trott <br /> Brook neighborhood that the rink may be closed and invite them to future meetings <br /> to get their feedback.
