Ed Jensen - 75-519-0115 <br /> <br />Mr. Jenson stated that the property value of his town home on Proctor Avenue <br />has increased from $88,900 to $98,600. Assessor Greg Olson reviewed some <br />comparable town home sales in the area and noted that the property value has <br />increased due to the popularity of town homes. He further noted that all of the <br />townhomes in that area received an increase of 10% in their assessed market <br />value. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO MAKE NO CHANGE IN THE ASSESSED MARKET <br />VALUE FOR PARCEL NO. 75-519-0115. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Ron Woeste - 75-499-0230 <br /> <br />Mr. Woeste stated that his property value increased from $193.400 to $201,300. It <br />was noted by the Council that this was the general increase given to all property <br />in the City. Mr. Woeste indicated that he did not feel his home was appraised <br />fairly due to the fact that when he purchased the home it had not had the <br />general maintenance required of a home. He noted that the home needs <br />windows replaced, to be re-roofed plus many other general maintenance items <br />need to be accomplished. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO HAVE THE ASSESSOR RE-EVALUATE THE HOME <br />AND TO LEAVE THE APPRAISED VALUE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ASSESSOR <br />FOLLOWING RE-EV ALUATION OF THE PROPERTY. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />Assessor Ty Bischoff informed the Council that all of the modified two-story homes <br />in Elk River are over-valued. He noted that the ratio of assessed value for this style <br />of home is on the high end, ranging from about 101% - 107%. Ty Bischoff <br />recommended that the Council consider reducing the value of this style of home. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO REDUCE THE VALUE OF THE BASE SQUARE <br />FOOTAGE BY 10% OF ALL MODIFIED TWO-STORY HOMES IN THE CITY OF ELK RIVER. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br />
