Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> April 12,2017 <br /> 5.2 Park Dedication for Administrative Subdivision — Elk River Screw Job <br /> by John Lenz <br /> Mr. Benoit presented his staff report. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Ahlness and seconded by Commissioner Kallemeyn <br /> to recommend to City Council to accept staff recommendations that Park <br /> Dedication be paid in the form of cash for 2.81 acres at the City Council <br /> established rate when the subdivision is released for recording. The current <br /> rate is 8% of the county assessed value which equates to $8,032 for this <br /> application. Staff will determine the final amount when the plat is released for <br /> recording. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> 6.1 Bailey Point Eagles Nest Platform Update <br /> Bailey Point Nature Preserve Steward, Eric Toth shared a slide show of the <br /> rebuilding of the Eagles nest platform. <br /> 7. Parks and Recreation Director Update <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report. Sharing that commission needs to come up <br /> with a list of ideas for athletic fields improvements adding that Hillside trail <br /> construction will be$50,400 for a bid and will start in July. <br /> Chair Anderson asked if people are call regarding volunteering at Pinewood. <br /> Mr. Hecker stated there is a number on City website for volunteers to call. Staff <br /> worked 32 hours on average at Pinewood in the past and will not this year with this <br /> agreement. <br /> 8.1 Recreation Manager Report <br /> Mr. Benoit presented a slide show regarding the Summer Recreation Programs. <br /> 8.2 Park Superintendent Report <br /> Mr. Sevcik presented his staff report. Adding that bids for trail additions and repairs <br /> were opened and we are looking at a lower cost than budgeted and will be awarded <br /> this next Monday. <br /> 9.
