<br />St. Andrew's Church/CD 04-38 <br />February 22, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Building Elevations <br /> <br />The exterior of the addition will be concrete panels with some brick to match the existing <br />buildings. It will be two stories high to allow for the high ceiling in the gymnasium and <br />match the existing rooiline of the church. A new entrance will be located on the south side <br />between the addition and the church. It will provide access to the foyer adjacent to the <br />gymnasIum. <br /> <br />Landscaping <br /> <br />Six new trees will be planted in the area of the old church, three ash trees and three pine <br />trees. Other landscaping includes 3 ornamental trees and various shurbs along the sidewalk <br />leading to the new parish center entrance. There is an existing overs tory tree near the <br />intersection of Irving Avenue and 4th Street, between the old church and the parking lot. The <br />applicant should preserve this tree if possible. <br /> <br />Plannina Commission Meetina <br /> <br />At the Planning Commission meeting held on January 25th, no one spoke at the public <br />hearing. The Commission discussed construction and demolition traffic routes and had the <br />building elevations clarified. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and staff recommend that the City Council approve the <br />conditional use permit to expand St. Andrews Church with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. All comments of the City Engineer shall be addressed. <br /> <br />2.
