Task Force Mission Statement <br />Following City Council’s appointment, the Task Force developed <br />and adopted the following mission statement which describes <br />their role in the creation of this Plan: <br /> <br /> <br />c. Mississippi Connections Redevelopment <br />Framework Vision Statement <br />The following vision statement summarizes the end objective, <br />purpose and intent of the Plan: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mission Statement – <br /> <br />To develop a comprehensive plan that will redefine the <br />"greater downtown area" to preserve its historical <br />character while promoting the future viability of the <br />community. <br /> <br />Maximum public input will be gathered to create and <br />assess alternatives resulting in a formal redevelopment <br />plan with a combination of a master vision, working <br />policies, specific area recommendations and <br />implementation priorities. <br /> <br /> <br />Vision Statement – <br /> <br />The Mississippi Connections Study Area is the cornerstone of <br />the community. The Redevelopment Framework provides the <br />blueprint for creating an environment and culture that <br />encourages private reinvestment. This environment will be <br />characterized by a robust business climate, strong affordable <br />residential neighborhoods, diverse recreational opportunities, <br />an agreed upon transportation framework, recognition of its <br />historical place, and enhancing opportunities for connections <br />with the community. <br />
