<br />;. <br /> <br />~ February, 1999 - From Kathy Swanberg, Becker, 55308 <br /> <br />Re: Associated Developers of the Twin Cities, Inc. for - <br />Preliminary Plat (P98-8) <br />Conditional Use Permit (CU98-26) <br /> <br />To the City of Elk River: <br /> <br />My husband, Bill, & I have 50/S0 partnership with my parents, Earl <br />& Lorraine Hohlen, as owners on 2 land parcels on the E. side of <br />;#169. <br /> <br />'The developer's preliminary plan l^lhich PRECEDED this current plan <br />h~Q Crossing Avenue going all-the-way thro, but then PROCEEDED to <br />change it by ENDING it as a cul-ti-sac, declaring the in-between <br />as a 'PRIVATE' road and then the remainder becomes a street to <br />connect Tyler street. <br /> <br />Two months ago, at the Planning Commission meeting, I voiced my <br />ob~ection to this current plan. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />If our FUTURE plans were ever to subdivide our parcels, etc., we <br />,,,ould maybe need an EXIT/ENTRY outlet on the top left side. But <br />the developers have declared that as a 'PRIVATE' road, of which I <br />highly question & believe that the developers, including my dad <br />who is in partnership with them, will make it IMPOSSIBLE or NOT <br />AFFORDABLE, ETC. for us to get EXIT/ENTRY to this so-called 'Pri- <br />v'lte' road: <br /> <br />Many of the mobile home park residents were badly abused by my dad <br />& Tonv Gleekel, who represents these developers, and why did they <br />threaten to make my land USELESS, LANDLOCKED & WORTHLESS - JUST AS <br />they have tried to devalue Mevissen' s & '."larden' s land1:?: <br /> <br />'Ne landovmers stepped forward many times before the city, in order <br />to EXPOSE these INTOLERABLE METHODS & TACTICS, which has kept Tony <br />Gleekel in charge of controlling this development process in the <br />city by misleading everyone: <br /> <br />Not only MISLEADING the city & also causing the Mevissen'& Warden <br />properties to actually be entered into a power of eminent domain <br />process, when the Mevissen's & Warden's were not even given warn- <br />in~ or notice of all these events: <br /> <br />This association of developers prepared SEVEN OR MORE option and <br />purchase agreements (Exhibits A,B,C,D & E) starting 5 yrs. ago on <br />January 7, '94, which included our land. But all this was done <br />without our knowledge or our signatures & ALL UNBEKNOWN to Bill & <br />I until just last year: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />I'm sure VTe would NOT have even known today, had it No'r been nec- <br />essary for dad & Matt Fischer (Pres. & owner of thi$. developer's <br />association) who NEEDED our signatures last year to petition the <br />city for installation of trunkline improvements for the NEXT STAGE <br />OF THEIR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT~ - (Petition is Exhibit F). <br /> <br />(p~. 1 & continue to pg. 2) <br />
