This group makes the final decision <br />on which public improvement projects are to receive Region 7W federal funds <br />that are allocated by way of the Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer is a member of the Region 7W Transportation <br />Advisory Committee (TAC) which makes recommendations to the TPPC on <br />projects. <br /> <br />The TPPC is meeting on February 25,1999, to make decisions on which <br />projects are to receive funding for fiscal year 2002. These projects can begin in <br />July 2001. Elk River has a highly ranked project that is under consideration <br />and which is expected to receive approval for federal funding for 2002. This <br />project is the resurfacing and improvement of 175th from the new Tyler Street <br />(west end of the project) to Fillmore Street (east end of the project). If <br />approved, the city should receive federal funding in the amount of $360,000. <br />The total project is estimated to cost $450,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing is scheduled to provide an update to the council on the results <br />of the February 25, 1999, TPPC meeting. <br /> <br />'\ '\elkriver'\sys'\shrdoc'\council'\ 7wupdate.doc <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
