City Council Minutes Page 6
February 24, 2003
-----------------------------
The City Administrator provided an update on the subject of a city vision statement and city
goals. He indicated that there is no clear staff consensus on how to proceed with the process
of developing a city vision statement and city goals and that everyone likes the vision that is
being developed as part of the comprehensive plan process. He indicated that some
department heads have expressed the need for clearer priorities and for more direction from
the Council.

The Council agreed that this citywide vision and goals process not interfere with the
comprehensive plan process. Furthermore, the Council noted that it is likely that the
comprehensive plan vision/goals will be coordinated with an overall City vision statement
and goals.

6.
