General Business
5.1 New Business
5.1.a Review the Updated Elk River Public Library Community Room Use
Policy and Application—Steve Benoit,Recreation Manager
Steve and Will have been working on transferring the responsibility
of renting the library's community room from Library staff to Parks
and Recreation staff. Changes to the previous rental policy were
reviewed.
It was clarified that library staff will check the room after each rental
when they relock the door. They will notify Parks and Recreation if
there are any issues following a rental.
Moved by Jayne Dietz and seconded by Willie Jackson to
approve the new Elk River Public Library Community Room
Use Policy and Application with two amendments to the policy:
1) When the City's reservation program allows direct online
booking from the customer, the policy will note that the
customer can pay online with a credit card.
2) Deposits can be held over the course of multiple meetings
and refunded following the last meeting if desired.Talk to
Parks and Rec staff if interested.
Motion carried 4-0.
5.2 Old Business
5.2.a Wayfinding Sign Examples —RaeAnn Gardner, Communications
Coordinator
• RaeAnn provided sample signs showing the butterfly and rain
gardens. She noted the signs will be 18 x 12 with rounded
corners. The butterfly sign has pictures of butterflies native to
Minnesota. The rain garden sign will have detailed information
about rain gardens that Tim Sevcik,Parks Superintendent,
provided.
• RaeAnn still needs to determine how many signs will be hung in
each garden.
• The existing windmill sign was only temporary. The final sign
will look like these examples as they are the city's approved
wayfinding brand.
• • RaeAnn will provide final proofs at the November meeting.
i i i t u i t
NATURE
