. . . RESOLUTION 00-_ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER, ACCEPTING THE NORTHSTAR CORRIDOR STATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has been involved with and is a member of the Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA); and, WHEREAS, NCDA and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) are in the process of planning and implementation of a commuter rail transit operation on the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe rail line between the City of Rice and downtown Minneapolis, thus passing through Elk River; and, WHEREAS, the Advanced Corridor Plan for the commuter train operation has included the siting of a station in Elk River at the northwest corner of the railroad tracks and 171st Avenue; and, WHEREAS, Minnesota St'atutes 174.88 provides each city the opportunity to review and comment on the Advanced Corridor Plan and subsequent to a hearing conducted by NCDA and MnDOT on said plan, the city shall approve or disapprove the location and design of the station located in each respective city; and WHEREAS, the hearing on the Plan was conducted on October 16, 2000; and WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council finds the conceptual plan for the station to be acceptable; and WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council, having concerns relating to the final design of the facility, want to continue to monitor the progress of the design of the station and park and ride facility. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota approves the Advanced Corridor Plan for the City with the following condition: 1.
