While this machine does eliminatesom'e of the' problems <br />with s.poiled ballots, it has a co~;t to the city of over $3,000. Given the small population, :lhis Is <br />considered ~n expense per ballot that would be cost prohibitive. The audit~r further suggested the <br />possibility of the city and the township combining to hold elections, as the township is :going to' purchase <br />one of the machines and it could be shared by both.
