<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />November 13, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />4.5. <br /> <br />Consider Reauest to Proceed with Lawn Fertilizer Ordinance <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator, indicated that staff has been <br />working with the Lake Orono Water Quality Task force in an effort to improve the <br />water quality in the lake. He noted that the Task Force is considering researching <br />the adoption of a fertilizer ordinance. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE STAFF AND THE LAKE ORONO <br />WATER QUALITY TASK FORCE TO PROCEED WITH DEVELOPMENT OF A FERTILIZER <br />ORDINANCE. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.6. Consider Test Results from Monitorina Wells at Old City Dumo Site <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf stated that the City has been testing three city wells at the old dump <br />and two residential wells. He requested Council authorization to continue to test <br />these wells. It was the consensus of the Council to continue testing the wells. <br /> <br />4.7. Consider Disoosal Location for 2001 Residential Refuse Service <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf recommended that the City renew its contract with Sherburne <br />County for disposal of refuse at the RDF plant for the year 2001. Steve Rohlf <br />reviewed the past current and future monthly refuse fees. He recommended <br />that the city maintain the 2000 rates for refuse service in 2001. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO RENEW THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH <br />SHERBURNE COUNTY FOR DISPOSAL OF REFUSE AT THE RDF PLANT AND TO MAINTAIN <br />THE EXISTING REFUSE SERVICE RATES FOR 2001. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.8. <br /> <br />Enterorise Funds <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson reviewed the following enterprise funds: Garbage <br />Collection and Recycling Program, Wastewater Treatment System and Municipal <br />Liquor Store. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO ADOPT THE 2001 ENTERPRISE BUDGETS. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5. Ooen Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for Open Mike. <br /> <br />6. Other Business <br /> <br />There was no other business. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Staff Uodates <br /> <br />The City Clerk reminded the Council of the School District meeting on November <br />16. <br />
