TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE FOR DENNIS FROEHLICH TO SELL FLORIDA <br />CITRUS - APPROVED <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the 4-way stop signs at Target and Taco Bell. The <br />Council requested the Police Chief and City Engineer to review the situation at <br />that particular site and to report back to the Council at a later date with a <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.1. Consider Resolution Canvassina the November 7, 2000 General Election Results <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-99 CANVASSING THE <br />NOVEMBER 7, 2000 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS. COUNCILMEMBER <br />DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.2. Consider 2000-01 City Snow and Ice Control Policy <br /> <br />Street Superintendent Phil Hals presented the Council with the current updated <br />Snow and Ice Control Policy. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2000-2001 SNOW AND ICE <br />CONTROL POLICY. COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.3. <br /> <br />Consider Authorization for Parkina Restrictions on the East Side of Jackson <br />Avenue, South of School Street <br /> <br />The Police Chief stated that citizen complaints have been received regarding <br />students parking on both sides of Jackson Avenue during school hours. He stated <br />that this causes traffic hazards and limits the number of parking spaces available <br />for residential on-street parking. The Police Chief suggested regulating parking on <br />Jackson Avenue. Discussion was held regarding the issue that snowplowing would <br />be difficult if parking is allowed by students on Jackson Avenue. <br /> <br />The Council suggested allowing students to park at Uon' s Park and to enforce a <br />3-hour parking limit on both sides of Jackson Avenue. <br /> <br />MAYOR KLINZING MOVED TO RESTRICT PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF JACKSON <br />AVENUE TO THREE HOURS DURING SCHOOL HOURS AND TO SUSPEND THE PARKING <br />RESTRICTIONS IN LION'S PARK PARKING LOT TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO PARK IN THE <br />LOT. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.4. <br /> <br />Consider Hirina Full Time EmDloyee for Public Works DeDartment <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO HIRE STEVE STOFFERS AS FULL TIME <br />MAINTENANCE I WORKER AT A STARTING SALARY OF $12.44 PER HOUR WITH A JULY <br />STEP INCREASE TO STEP B OF PAY GRADE 8, FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION <br />OF THE SIX MONTH PROBATION WITH NO COST OF LIVING INCREASE ON JANUARY <br />1, 2000. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />O. <br />
