Call Meetina To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River City Council <br />was called to order at 6:50 p.m. by Mayor Klinzing. <br /> <br />2. Consider 10/9/2000 Aaenda <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA. COUNCILMEMBER <br />THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consider Consent Aaenda <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />3.1. 9/25/2000 CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - APPROVED <br />3.2. CHECK REGISTER - APPROVED <br />3.3. RESOLUTION 00-84 APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE GENERAL <br />ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7,2000 - APPROVED <br />3.4. PURCHASE OF CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK FOR BUILDING DEPARTMENT FROM <br />SAXON MOTORS AT $18,539 - APPROVED <br />3.5. REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR MAINTENANCE I POSITION FOR STREET <br />DEPARTMENT - APPROVED <br />3.6. REQUEST TO HIRE JERRY SMITH OF CENTURY 21 TO APPRAISE THE BAILEY <br />PROPERTY LOCATED NEXT TO THE LIBRARY - APPROVED <br />3.7. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.1. <br /> <br />Tax Rate Increase <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson explained that a 1999 adopted state law requires <br />municipalities to hold a public hearing and to pass a resolution if their tax levy will <br />result in a tax rate increase. She indicated that there would be a tax increase for <br />Elk River in 2001. <br />
