Environmental
Attn: Rebecca Haug
City of Elk River, Mn.
Fax: 763 '351090 - Ph 7631351068

Dear Ms. Haug:

This letter Is with regard to the proposed Theraupeutic
Riding Center at 21554 Meadowvale Rd, Elk River. Kevin Ii
Kyleen Reiners are the future landowners and both come
wftt1 wonderful credentials.

I have talked with several people with regard to the Manure
Management for this property including Joe St. Dennis of the
County Planning; John Norgren, County Ditch OYerseerer;
Soli COnservation &. watershed District members;
Environmental people from University of Minnesota
extension Service of Hennipln County; MPCA Designer I, &.
Inspector (royself); as well as John Oliver &. Associates
Survey &. Wetlands. Based upon information received from
those individuals, I would like to present the following:

Acreage: 22.27 acres in the "proposal" plus 2.8 A In Big Lake
Township making a total of approximately 25.07 acres.
Wetlands: 3.17
Area for House &. curnmt Mound system: 4.3 acres
Area for proposed Center &. corrals: 2.6 acres

this leaves well over 15 acres for cropland. If it Is rotated
each year for com on 10 acres, and the third 5 acres every 3
years to corn, there would be a world of use for the manure
which would come from this center. The amount of nitrogen
from horse manure would not build up very fast. Kevin
Reiners has purchased a tractor, plow, disc, and harrow and
plans are to incorporate the manure as necessary on land
that Is to be planted each year.
