MEETING OF ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD <br /> HELD AT ELK RIVER LIBRARY <br /> TUESDAY,January 28,2014 <br /> • Board Members Present: Nicole Novotny,Jayne Dietz,Willie Jackson <br /> Board Members Absent: Kathleen Tracy,Mary Eberley <br /> Others Present: William Hollerich-Branch Manager,Brandi Canter-Regional Supervisor,Mayor John <br /> Dietz <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Public Library Board was <br /> called to order at 5:07 p.m.by. Jayne Dietz. <br /> It was determined a quorum was present <br /> Willie Jackson MOVED AND Jayne Dietz SECONDED TO APPROVED THE AGENDA AS <br /> PRESENTED <br /> MOTION PASSED 3-0 <br /> 2. Consider Consent Agenda <br /> Nicole Novotny MOVED AND Jayne Dietz SECONDED TO APPROVE THECONSENT <br /> AGENDA AS PRESENTED. <br /> MOTION PASSED 3-0. <br /> ID3. Librarian's Report—William Hollerich, Regional Supervisors Report—Brandi Canter <br /> The Board acknowledged the Librarian's report. <br /> a. Training provided to staff over the last year has been very positive and supportive. <br /> b. All staff day planned for April,notification will go out. <br /> c. A lot of programming going on at the library. <br /> d. Susan Watts has left and a posting has been put up to fill the position. Mike S.will re-retire <br /> and will hopefully come back as a substitute. <br /> e. Challenges in the future as the building ages. <br /> • Wish list created to present to the city. <br /> f. Reading 1000 books before you enter Kindergarten. Celebration held in August for those that <br /> complete it during the year. Joint effort with the friends of the library. <br /> g. Staff relations are good. <br /> The Board acknowledged the Regional Supervisors report. <br /> a. Brandi will be staying on and continue supervising the Elk River Branch. <br /> b. Foley is a new branch that Brandi has taken on and they have requested that they have a <br /> sample copy of our Agenda to use as a template as they move forward. <br /> c. Sartell does not have a library but has a friends of the library group. The board of trustees at <br /> the board meeting earlier this month will be setting up a work plan to see if it is feasible to <br /> make it happen. <br /> III <br /> Old Business <br /> 1. Northland Landscape and Nursery and Great Northern Landscapes,Inc. came out to look at <br /> the grounds and landscaping. Recommendations, diagrams,and cost estimates were <br /> provided. They need to come out again in the spring when they can see the grounds better. <br /> 6/22/2016 1 <br />
