City Council Minutes <br />May 16, 2016 <br />9.2 Climate Smart Municipalities <br />Page 16 <br />Ms. Mroz presented the staff report and explained the partnership acceptance and <br />financial committee, requesting the council suggest delegates. She explained the 3 - <br />year commitment, travel expenses, and benefits of partnering with the Climate -Smart <br />Municipalities program which will allow the city to learn from other Minnesota cities <br />and partner cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and apply practical <br />university research to solve energy-related environmental challenges. <br />After discussion, it was the consensus of the council to approve the partnership with <br />Climate -Smart Municipalities and allow staff to determine which delegates would <br />represent Elk River. <br />10.
