Elk River Public Library Board Page 2
November 17,2015
III
No city staff present.
6. General Business
6.1.c Patio Furniture
■ Chair Dietz wants the Board to think about adding permanent patio
furniture for next year. The City is unable to secure the existing patio
furniture at the end of each day because the library closes at 8pm,well
after City staff have gone home. For safety sake, Chair Dietz would like
to consider adding permanent benches. The City doesn't have a budget
for this so it could possibly come out of the Library Board budget or
Friends might be interested in an `In Memory'bench(s). This will go
back on the agenda in January when Tim Sevcik, the new Park
Superintendent, attends the Library Board meeting. Mary will check with
the Rotary Club to see if she can find out what company the bench at
Bailey Pointe Park came from.
6.1.d 2016 Meeting Dates
S .4110
Chair Dietz reported that the tentative dates for 2016 include the
changed date in November to accommodate the holiday. If these dates
are approved in advance and posted, then the November 2016 meeting
doesn't need a special posting.
Moved by Mary Eberley and seconded by Sarah Holmgren to approve
the meeting dates for 2016 as presented. Motion carried 4-0.
6.2 Old Business
■ Statue Update: There was a discussion about moving the windmill to an
area that gets more wind/movement;however, the cost was quoted at
$3,500 so the City and the Economic Development Authority (EDA)
decided not to move the windmill. The EDA is funding some
landscaping around the windmill; details are in the Park report.
A video about the windmill was viewed. The link to the video is as
follows: https://youtu.be/SGNcQkL6eOq.
Chair Dietz also asked for two pictures of the windmill to be included in
the minutes as follows:
ill
1-IUEIE1 IT
NATURE
