John Cunningham, Fire Chief <br />Zack Carlton, Planning Manager <br />From: Jeff Smith, Fire Prevention Specialist <br />Date: February 12, 2016 <br />Subject: 2014 inspection of 17432 Zane St NW <br />1, Jeff Smith, was asked to accompany Deputy State Fire Marshal John Gergen and Elk River Fire <br />Marshal CliffAnderson on an 'inspection of 17432 Zane St NW on May 1, 2014. <br />We had access to the vestibule where we discovered the interior door was locked. There was no <br />attendant at the front desk to allow us access into the building- Fire Marshal Gergen then called the <br />Briggs Company and spoke with an individual who stated facts that John passed along to Cliff and 1. <br />Fire Marshal Gergen stated that per the phone conversion the building was no longer being used as <br />a hotel/motel and was an apartment building. He then stated that the change to an apartment made <br />it our jurisdiction and the state would no longer be "inspecting that property. <br />
