Key Account/Lead Generation Strategy <br /> Staff met with the commercial lenders of all branches of the First National Bank of Elk <br /> River to present an overview of the services provided by the Economic Development <br /> Department in order to strengthen the partnership between the bank and the City in <br /> completing industrial development deals. Attached is the updated key account schedule. <br /> IV. Promotions & Advertising Strategy <br /> Inquiries <br /> Staff has continued to track all commercial and industrial inquiries that have passed through <br /> the Economic Development office. The attached Industrial Prospect Report summarizes <br /> the types of companies that staff is currently working with. <br /> Economic Development Web Page <br /> Staff met with Tammy Miller Design to continue the development of the Economic <br /> Development web page,which is located within the City's web site at www.ci.elk- <br /> river.mn.us. In addition to the interactive map of available industrial sites, the web page will <br /> include testimonials on business development and expansions. <br /> 2003 Ad Campaign <br /> Staff met with Tammy Miller Design to continue preparation for next year's Strategic <br /> Industrial Advertising Campaign. Initial plans include featuring a new series of <br /> manufacturers. <br /> • MN Real Estate Journal North by Northwest-Market Update Conference <br /> Staff will attend this conference,which will be held on November 22nd. The event will <br /> feature development opportunities in Wright,Anoka, and Sherburne Counties. Developers, <br /> professional site selectors, brokers and local CEOs and CFOs have been encouraged to <br /> attend. The attached event brochure lists the featured speakers,including Elk River's City <br /> Attorney,Peter Beck. <br /> Sherburne County is sponsoring this event on behalf of the cities of Becker,Big Lake, and <br /> Elk River. Elk River will receive a free 1/4 size ad and article featured in a special insert <br /> coinciding with the conference. <br /> MN Manufacturing&Technology Week- Oct. 21-25, 2002 <br /> Staff partnered with the Chamber of Commerce in sponsoring this year's MN <br /> Manufacturing&Technology Week events,which included tours of NRG, Great River <br /> Energy (GRE), the new Elk River Landfill Gas-to-Electric Facility, and SoftPac. In addition, <br /> Steve Shurts of Split Rock Energy provided a keynote presentation regarding the energy <br /> industry and its effect on business. The tours were sparsely attended, despite local/statewide <br /> advertising efforts and personal invitations. <br /> The City sponsored a full-page "Thank You" ad recognizing all Elk River manufacturers, <br /> which appeared in the October 23`d issue of the Elk River Star News. In addition, staff <br /> interviewed with the Star News for the October 30`'' article entitled"City Recognizes <br /> Manufacturers". <br /> • <br />
