A timeline and <br />description of key milestones is provided below: <br />June, 2010 <br />171" Avenue FAST Study approved showing long-term transportation layout for TH <br />10/169 east of TH 101. Attachment 1 <br />February, 2013 <br />Geometric layout and environmental documents approved by the Federal Highway <br />Administration for mobility improvements on TH 10 (TH 101 to Lake Orono) and <br />TH 169 (Mississippi River to City Limits). Attachment 2 & 3 <br />March, 2013 <br />City staff worked with Senator Kiffineyer on legislation at the State for funding of a <br />new interchange at TH 10/101/169. <br />June, 2013 <br />Introduced MnDOT to adaptive signal controls and pushed for funding of these <br />systems on the trunk highways through Elk River. <br />October, 2013 <br />Through the State Corridors of Commerce solicitation, the city submitted three <br />projects for consideration: construction of an interchange at TH 10 and 167`'' (per <br />1715` FAST), and Mobility Improvements on TH 10 and on TH 169 (Per approved <br />geometric layouts). <br />April, 2014 <br />City staff met with Senator Kiffineyer and the Minnesota Commissioner of <br />Transportation to discuss further details about adaptive signal controls and <br />advocated for their installation in Elk River. <br />July, 2014 <br />Completed preliminary engineering report for Yale Street extension from 171ST <br />Avenue to a future intersection with TH 10/169 at 167th/Twin Lakes Road. <br />September, 2014 <br />Completed discussion with the Chamber of Commerce's Transportation Committee <br />who supported installation of adaptive signal controls along TH 10 and TH 169 and <br />preliminary design for new ramps at the TH 10/101/169 interchange.
