96 TOTAL STALLS <br />EAST 24TH STREET <br />24 <br />PHILLIPS COMMUNITY AQUATIC CENTER <br />MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA <br />The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board hired Studio Five Architects to design an <br />addition and remodeling of the Phillips Community Center to create a new Aquatics Cen- <br />ter. The facility program documents a need for an addition of approximately 8,300 gross <br />square feet of programmed space and the renovation of about 10,000 gross square feet. <br />Key components of the facility program include: <br />• New lobby, with reception desk and staff area <br />New community room <br />• New public toilets to accommodate spectators <br />• Two new Multi -Family Changing Rooms that are designed to serve a variety of needs <br />from general locker rooms to team rooms <br />• Two Single Family Changing Rooms associated with the existing locker facilities con- <br />structed in existing storage areas <br />• New natatorium including a four lane teaching pool with ramped entry and infra - <br />U) structure to support the addition of a spa / hot tub in the future. <br />W <br />Renovation of the existing pool and natatorium <br />> Renovation of the abandoned/unused locker and shower facilities <br />_ Removal of office and conference rooms previously constructed over abandoned <br />spectator seating area and restoration the area to its original use. <br />The project is designed to meet Minnesota B3 Sustainability Guidelines and will start con- <br />struction in Spring 2016.
