PROFIT AND LOSS NARRATIVE <br /> September 2015 <br /> Electric P&L <br /> September's electric kwh sales (for August usage) are up marginally from the prior year <br /> by.41%overall: <br /> • Residential usage is down.8% <br /> • Small Commercial usage is down 12% <br /> • Large Commercial usage is up 3% from the prior year. <br /> September Operating Revenue is up from the prior year by 2.3%for the month,up <br /> slightly at 1% for year-to-date numbers, and over year-to-date budgeted numbers by <br /> 1.3%. <br /> Other Revenue is down slightly from the prior year by 2.1%for September. Connection <br /> Fees are down but Miscellaneous Revenue is higher due to a timing difference. <br /> Miscellaneous Revenue has a MISO payment for the month of August that wasn't <br /> received until September. <br /> Overall, Total Revenues of$3,192,303 are above the prior year$3,127,234 by 2%, year- <br /> to-date revenues are ahead .82%, and increased over budgeted numbers 1.13%. <br /> Purchased Power is up from the prior year 8.2%. There was a small credit last year <br /> included in the power costs. Year-to-date the difference in costs for purchased power are <br /> 3.9% less than the prior year due to PCAs in 2014.. <br /> For other expenses,there are some differences from the prior year. Maintenance Expense <br /> is more because of a reduction in costs in 2014 related to reimbursement of expenses for <br /> testing of the plant engines' capacity, and the purchase of a battery charger in 2015. <br /> Landfill Gas Expense is below the prior year due to a timing difference with invoices for <br /> monthly maintenance not received until September. <br /> Total expenses were $2,908,974, over the previous year for September by 5.6%and <br /> under year-to-date numbers by 1.7%. <br /> The Electric Department has a Net Profit of$157,851, compared to the prior year Net <br /> Profit of$246,840. Year-to-date there is a Net Profit of$1,512,992, compared to the prior <br /> year Net Profit of$945,242. <br /> 33 <br />
