Housing and Redevelopment Authority Meeting Page 3 August 12, 1993 410 7.1. Commissioner Duitsman "Other Business I" At this time Commissioner Duitsman reviewed the status of the EDA Main Street Redevelopment site with the HRA Commissioners. At the EDA meeting of August 9, 1993, some EDA Commissioners suggested that the site be conveyed back to the City and that the City fill and compact the area for use as a passive, park-area. The City may be asking the HRA for participation with this project. Chair Hinkle spoke in favor of providing HRA assistance with this project. 7.2. Commissioner Duitsman "Other Business II" At this time, Commissioner Duitsman reviewed with HRA Commissioners a request the City received for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) assistance for a redevelopment project at Main Street and Freeport Avenue. The request for TIF assistance results in an amendment to TIF Plans No. 1 and No. 3. The City may be seeking HRA participation to help fund this project as well. Chair Hinkle spoke in favor of such a concept. Chair Hinkle suggested that any time a community has a local developer undertaking a project, agencies like an EDA or an HRA should provide assistance. Chair Hinkle reminded HRA Commissioners that the public hearing on this matter was scheduled for August 16, 1993. Prior to adjourning, HRA Commissioners also discussed briefly the status of the sidewalks in the Central Business District. 8. Adjournment There being no further business, COMMISSIONER DUITSMAN MOVED TO ADJOURN THE HRA MEETING. COMMISSIONER TOTH SECONDED THE MOTION.
