THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Councilmember Thompson indicated that he has received requests from <br />residents along Auburn Street and from Lafayette Woods for a 25 mph speed <br />limit. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for Open Mike. <br /> <br />6. Other Business <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding campaign signs, particularly how to handle signs in <br />the rights-of-way and whether the city can have campaign signs on its property. <br /> <br />7. Staff Updates <br /> <br />Phil Hals explained that Jerry Mackedanz is retiring for one month for purposes of <br />PERA requirements. He noted that the Council will be requested to rehire him in <br />about a month. <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on Community Education's plans for <br />a grant application for a family center building project. <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that City Staff would be forming a <br />city hall expansion committee. The purpose is to put together some <br />recommendations for the City Council to consider in anticipation of an expansion <br />project. <br /> <br />8.
