City Council Minutes <br />August 14, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />5.8, <br /> <br />5,9, <br /> <br />5.10. <br /> <br />5.11. <br /> <br />5.12. <br /> <br />Terry Maurer indicated that once those conditions were met, a resolution would <br />be presented to the council. <br /> <br />Award Main Street/Highway 169 Signal Bids <br /> <br />Terry Maurer recommended awarding the project to the iow bidder, Ridgedale <br />Electric, Inc. at $270,296.00. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-67 ACCEPTING BID AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE MAIN <br />STREET/TRUNK HIGHWAY 169 SIGNALIZATION AND CSAH 12 CSAH 13 <br />SIGNALIZATION IMPROVEMENT OF 2000. COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider Resolution Approving Bid for the Improvement on Main Street Between <br />CSAH 13 and Railroad Tracks <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-68 ACCEPTING BID AND <br />AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MAI'rER OF THE MAIN STREET <br />IMPROVEMENTS BETWEEN CSAH 13 AND THE RAILROAD OF 2000. COUNCILMEMBER <br />MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider Main Street Striping Proposal <br /> <br />Terry Maurer reviewed the proposal to restripe Main Street using a three-lane <br />design with a center left turn lane. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE RESTRIPING OF MAIN STREET <br />FROM HIGHWAY 169 TO THE RAILROAD TRACKS WITH A THREE-LANE <br />CONFIGURATION. COUNClLMEMBER THOMPSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Consider Financial Consultant Proposals <br /> <br />The city administrator updated the council on the two proposals that were <br />previously given by financial consultants Ehlers and Associates, Inc., and <br />Springsted, Inc. The city administrator requested the council to make a decision <br />to either continue with Springsted or to hire Ehlers and Associates. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO HIRE EHLERS AND ASSOCIATES, INC. AS THE <br />CITY'S BOND AND FINANCIAL CONSULTANT. COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Request to Fill Vacant Position in Building and Zoning Department <br /> <br />The city administrator indicated that the building and zoning administrator is <br />requesting to move the city's receptionist, Robin Hartfiel, to the position of <br />building and zoning secretary for a three-month trial period. He indicated that <br />administration is also requesting to temporarily fill Robin's position for the three- <br />month trial period through a temporary agency. <br /> <br /> <br />
