NORTH TAR Agenda Item 2b MEMORANDUM May 30, 2000 To: From: Subject: Northstar Corridor Development Authority Executive Committee, public information task force Amendment to the Shandwick Contract In consideration of the proposed contract amendment for Shandwick professional services for the remainder of 2000, the Executive Committee established a task force comprised of Paul McCarron, Steve Billings and Rick Speak to address performance issues with the Shandwick contract. The task force identified three areas of concern with regard to performance, including 1 ) project management, 2) quality assurance, 3) political sensitivity. The task force has directed staff to work with Shandwick to address its performance in these problem areas. The task force will review Shandwick's performance in early August, and recommend at the September meeting of the NCDA to either extend Shandwick's contract for the remainder of the year, or to procure a new public information/public involvement firm. Given these conditions, the task force recommends a contract amendment for Shandwick in the amount of $57,000 for additional services for the period of June through September, as described below.
