MIGHTY DUCKS MASC. <br /> s 404.- Ice Arena Grant Program <br /> 2015 Application Notice <br /> mara, ' OM <br /> am GENERAL INFORMATION + srcu <br /> The State of Minnesota,acting through its agency,the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission <br /> (MASC), is seeking proposals from interested communities to improve and develop ice arenas. <br /> Minnesota communities will be eligible to be awarded grants for developing new ice arenas, <br /> improving indoor air quality in ice arenas,or eliminating R-22 refrigerant. <br /> Grant recipients must have at least one local partner who is a political subdivision of the state. <br /> Communities can only apply to one of the three grant types. The MASC reserves the right to <br /> cancel or amend this solicitation if it is considered to be in its best interest. <br /> Purpose <br /> The purpose of this grant is to assist Minnesota communities in: <br /> 1. Developing new ice arenas, <br /> 2. Improving indoor air quality, and <br /> 3. Eliminating R-22 refrigerant. <br /> The result of a successful grant shall be to establish and improve ice arenas capable of hosting all <br /> ice sports competitions and training as well as maximize the community's ability to generate <br /> economic benefits by promoting ice sports programming for females and males. <br /> Goals <br /> The MASC intends for this grant program to accomplish the following goals: <br /> 1. Encourage communities and organizations to work in partnership to develop and operate <br /> ice arenas. <br /> 2. Where possible,to encourage communities and organizations to develop arenas with <br /> multiple sheets of ice in order to reduce both construction and operating costs. <br /> 3. Provide increased opportunities for female ice sports participation. <br /> 4. Encourage the development of ice arenas that serve community sport and non-sport needs <br /> and ensure non-hockey groups will also have adequate access to the arenas. <br /> Tasks <br /> Respondents are asked to complete the following tasks: <br /> 1. Complete responses to the content sections of the application. <br /> 2. Respondent may submit additional information and documentation if they enhance the <br /> goals of the project. <br /> 3. Successfully comply with the grant terms and complete the project on a timely basis. <br /> 1 <br />
